Sunday's "Recovery Chess" event was perfect. Forget intense silence; this was about cool tunes, good friends, and the simple joy of the game at The Trigger Fish. The absolute highlight? Watching my 4-year-old daughter, Kina, take on the board.

My son's chess tournament today was a masterclass in not panicking. He started out looking more like a pawn in traffic than a king in his castle, but he completely turned it around to finish with an awesome 4/6!
